"United Forest" stands
in the courtyard of the Daum Museum of
Contemporary Art, Sedalia, Missouri. Twelve nine-foot columns
were designed in collaboration with the architect before the
museum was built. The four corner pieces represent the points
of the compass and the four seasons. The two columns erected
in the center are a tribute to 9/11, which occurred as the artwork
was being made. The collection, geometric yet rugged, ties
together manmade space and natural forms.
